YOUR TERRIBLE WORKDAY.

One of my favourite LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® (LSP) skills-building exercises is inviting participants to build their worst possible workday.

The outcome? Always fascinating, funny, and deeply insightful!

In a recent workshop,

  • One participant created a monochrome black-and-grey structure symbolizing a dull, lifeless day with zero motivation.
  • Another stacked bricks on their minifigure’s head, representing overwhelming weight of responsibilities and mental load.
  • A third one built a figure trapped inside a box, illustrating isolation from the joy and colours of life

By externalizing these frustrations in a playful way, participants could laugh, let go, and gain insights into how different people experience challenges. What feels “terrible” for one might not be for another. These discussions foster empathy, awareness, and better understanding of workplace dynamics, and open the doors to better ways of working together.

Why does it work?

LSP allows for deep yet non-confrontational reflection. Instead of asking participants direct, potentially uncomfortable questions, LSP invites them to play, create, and tell stories through metaphors. This gentle and caring approach allows for vulnerability without fear, leading to richer, and more honest conversations.

Metaphors help individuals find the words they might not otherwise be able to say. Participants leave with new perspectives on their challenges, a deeper appreciation of their colleagues, and a deeper commitment to their personal and professional growth

With LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY®, we don’t just build models.

We build understanding.
We build trust.
We build a more compassionate way to see ourselves and others.

Curious about how LSP can help your team grow, individually and collectivelly?

Then YOU and I should have a conversation.
