When I talk about my path, it is fairly common people react by saying «Hey, you engaged into something very different from what you were doing in corporate!».

Actually, it did happen not later than yesterday.

And every time it strikes me. Because for me, it does not really feel my work as a coach is very much different from my work as a leader in a corporate environment.

You see, when I was working at P&G, I was driven by a fierce passion.

My passion for scorecarding? Try again!
My passion for meetings? Nope
My passion for travelling? True I liked it!
My passion for delivering outstanding results? Yes, to some extend.
My passion for the businesses I was supporting as a Supply Chain Leader? Definitely YES.

But the real driver, the deeply rooted energy that kept me waking up every morning, day in day out, for 20 years was my passion for people.

And more specifically my passion for lifting every individual I am working with up, for helping this person realize he.she is more capable, more powerful, more talented, and more human than he.she thinks he.she is.

Because whatever your gender, your nationality, your seniority, your hierarchical level, or your title, you are adding value to the company.

My role as a leader was to unleash your full potential.

And to do that I had no choice but to show up as the best version of myself. Every day.

This is what allowed me to deliver very strong business results. Let’s not fool ourselves. You might be praised for being an incredible people manager and organization leader, if your contribution to the top-line and the bottom-line of the company is not obvious, your future there is most probably at stake.

Whatever your level and your people manager’s responsibility (and this is particularly true the higher you are on the corporate ladder and the bigger the size of your organization), you never deliver alone. You deliver WITH, you deliver THROUGH, but you never deliver alone. Never forget that.

When I stepped out of the corporate world, the same passion remained. And this same passion to help people bloom keeps waking me up every day. This only thing that has changed is the playfield.

Today as a coach, my role is to help you unfold who you are and show you you are more capable, more powerful, more talented, and more human than you think you are. Because whatever your gender, your nationality, your seniority, your hierarchical level, or your title, you are adding value to the world.

You are a leader. Time to behave as one. BE.

And tell me … what are you waking up for?

Love,

Delphine
