One of my clients told me he had just lost a long-standing client. He was devastated. Yet, a couple of minutes later, he shared that he had been booked for a workshop with senior leaders in a large multinational company, and that other leads were opening up. Still, the only thing he could think about was the client he had just lost.

I gave him this assignment : “Whenever you see the glass half-empty, pause, and try seeing it half-full instead”.

Sounds simple on paper, right?

Yet … shifting perspective is not easy. It takes effort. It takes self-awareness. It takes catching yourself in the moment, smiling at your reflexes, and being willing to see things differently. It takes daily practice, and sometimes multiple times a day. It takes not giving up. Even if you are regularly tempted to.

Until, maybe, one day… seeing the glass half-full becomes second nature.

When a client sees the glass half-full, I ask ” What is ONE thing you could do today to add just a few millilitres more, towards the life you want to live?

When a client sees the glass half-empty, I ask the exact same question.

Because theory is nice. But action is better : action to fill your glass with what nourishes you, and to empty it of what drains you.

Your turn!

Regardless of whether you see your glass half-empty or half-full, what is ONE SMALL STEP you could take to get rid of what drains your energy, so that what matters most to you has more space to grow?

I am sure something popped up.

GO DO IT.
NOW.

And how about practicing at your pace in 2026?

Happy New Year.

Be brave.
